Guy Morissette


Mr. Morissette started as a prospector in 1979 and has enjoyed a successful career in the mining sector since then having founded numerous companies including Eider Mining Resources (Noveder- Noveko) in 1984. Shortly thereafter he founded Explorations Essor in 1985 and Canaco Resources in 1986.

In 1991, Mr. Morissette gained control of Ressources Cristobal which later became Netgraphe Inc. which was taken over by Quebecor Media Inc. in 2004. He also founded Silver Star which became Perlite Canada, the only horticultural perlite processing company in Canada in 1993.

In 1995, he went on to create Golden Gram Resources to develop Bakoudou gold project in Moanda, Gabon, Africa.

Mr. Morissette has made numerous contributions toward the development of several gold showings in the Province of Quebec such as the Fayolle Project and the Ruisseau Pelletier Project. He also contributed to the exploration and discovery of gold showings on the Detour Lake geological corridor in Quebec, and to the development of the Lake Expanse deposit in the Belleterre area of Témiscamingue, Quebec. Mr. Morissette also made contributions to the development of the GP deposit and to the discovery of the Moriss gold deposit in the Rouyn-Noranda area of Quebec. 

After acquiring control of Resources Vantex in 2003, he then went on to create Vanstar Mining Resources Inc. in 2008.

Mr. Morissette made the initial discoveries of the Liam, Dan and 36 gold showings in 2013 and 2014 which led to the development of the Nelligan Gold deposit in Quebec.

Bernard Lapointe, Ph.D, P.Geo

Bernard Lapointe has extensive business experience, having spent more than 35 years in the resource sector in exploration and project development. He founded Arianne Resources in 1997 and headed the company until 2013 that became Arianne Phosphate. Mr. Lapointe contributed to the discovery and development of the Lac à Paul project located in Quebec, one of the largest phosphate projects in the world. Mr. Lapointe is now a semi-retired geologist, consultant and private investor. He sits on several technical and strategic committees of public and private exploration companies and is a lecturer of exploration funding at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.

He holds a B.A. in Geology (Montreal) from a Master’s degree in Structural Geology (Chicoutimi) and a Ph.D. in mineral resources of the Université du Québec (Chicoutimi).

Luc Gervais, Eng.


Mr. Gervais has 35 years of engineering, construction and maintenance experience in the mining and metallurgical sectors. He has held several management positions for metallurgical producers as well as for contractors and consulting engineering firms. He has directed numerous studies for mining companies and worked on various projects in Canada such as the Perseverance mine, extension of Mont-Wright in Fermont, extension of potash factories in Colonsay and Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, as well as setting up the Port Daniel Cement Plant. Abroad, he worked on the design of the incineration gas treatment of electronic components at Micro Metallics, in California, design and installation of a Noranda Reactor at the Daye Corp. foundry, in the Hubei province, China, commissioning and setting-up a lithium pilot plant in Centenario-Ratones in north-west Argentina. Mr. Gervais has a strong business experience, he is a graduate mining engineer from Laval University and a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ).

Sebastien Plouffe


Mr. Plouffe is a former successful VP Senior Investment Advisor with Canadian brokerages firms such as BMO Nesbitt Burns and Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, from which he achieved the Chairman’s Club level for his strong performance during many years. In his 10 years career, he has been involved in financings and transactions valued at over $1 billion.

Mr. Plouffe is President and CEO of Sediamek Inc., a private entity specialized in finding undervalued projects in emerging markets and structuring those projects to make them successful. It brought him to travel all over the world and to develop strong management skills. He co-founded and financed mining projects mostly in Central Africa and South America. He always emphasized the charitable aspects of his projects and he set-up some related organizations and structures worldwide.

Mr. Plouffe was instrumental in the success of several Canadian and International companies, both in private and public sectors, particularly in mining and technology. He is recognized for his management and ability to build and efficiently grow any corporations that he’s involved with. Mr. Plouffe is also a good communicator and speaks multiple languages such as English, French and Spanish.

Mr. Plouffe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Finance and Marketing from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales of Montreal.

Jonathan Hamel

Secretary of the Board

Mr. Hamel is an Associate Researcher at the Montreal Economic Institute, an independent public policy think tank focused on proposing reforms based on market principles and entrepreneurship. He is also an invited lecturer at ESG+ UQAM and École des Dirigeants HEC Montréal.

Mr. Hamel has recognized expertise in various emerging markets where he has contributed to several mobile payments and alternative banking projects. A pioneer of the Fintech community in Canada, he has contributed to numerous financial and technological conferences around the world. 

Mr. Hamel is a member of the Advisory Committee on Technological Innovation of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) since 2017.

Martin Richard


Mr. Richard is currently a partner at the Montreal office of Boyden, a global executive recruitment firm. Mr. Richard has extensive experience in sales and business development in the financial communications sector. He was Sales Director, Quebec and Eastern Canada for Donnelley Financial Solutions (previously RR Donnelley- NYSE:DFIN) as well as Vice-President, Sales for Bowne Financial Communications (NYSE:BNE). Mr. Richard also worked as a financial analyst for the Autorité des Marchés financiers («AMF»). Mr. Richard holds an MBA from Cornell Johnson School of Business and is also a member of the “Barreau du Québec” since 1999.

Gary Claytens

Director & VP. Public Relations - Western Canada

Gary completed three years of Geology at the University of British Columbia before transferring faculties and receiving his Bachelors degree in Economics in 1984, specializing in resource economics. He completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1985 and became a stockbroker and mining analyst with Yorkton Securities in North Vancouver, B.C.
In 1989, he was hired by a group of mining companies based in Vancouver, B.C., for the position of Vice-President of Finance. During this tenure, he was instrumental in the completion of numerous secondary financings with brokerage firms. In 1991, he started his own consulting company, Can Am Equity specializing in taking companies public and managing them on the TSX Venture Exchange. 

In 1997, he started a public oil and gas company, Mount Dakota Energy Corp., with operations in Alberta, Canada. Over the past 16 years, he has hands on experience in organizing, drilling, and completing oil and gas wells in Alberta. The company was later sold to a Chinese investment fund.

Since 2014, he founded and managed a private oil and gas company in Alberta.
